    • We listened to the engine area while running with the engine cover off and we heard a couple different ticking noises. One from the high pressure fuel injectors and another perhaps further down the front of the engine. We are not very concerned about either noise at this time. We lifted the vehicle and removed the skid plates and found the source of the sporadic non rhythmic ticking coming from the turbo charger wastegate closing quickly and with force. This is a normal operation of the vehicle. We scanned all vehicle systems for faults and there was not a single code stored in the entire vehicle. We checked the engine oil level with the cluster and it is 4/5 full. No issues came up on the inspection other that the rear brakes are down to about 4mm/30%. All easily checked fluid levels were full and in good condition.

    • Scanned all systems for faults and found codes stored in the DME. 102001 air mass, plausibility, air mass too high 120308 Charge air pressure control plausibility, pressure too low. Performed a intake smoke leak test and found that the clip for the charge pipe at the throttle was not in place which allowed the charge pipe to disconnect partially from the throttle body which caused the air volume to increase and the boost to decrease. Reinstalled the pipe and checked for damage and found none. Erased the faults and drove to find the turbo does build the correct amount of pressure but does so more slowly that a new turbo. >>If the low boost code returns then diagnose cause by manually testing the boost solenoid, vacuum supply, wastegate operation and exhaust back pressure. If all are OK then replacement of turbocharger may be necessary. >>The issue with the air mass too high is resolved by correctly fitting the charge pipe.
