    • Change engine oil and oil filter. Perform basic safety inspection. Lubricate and check chassis. Check air filter and cabin filter. Check all fluid levels and tire pressures. Road test vehicle. Check for additional needed services and clear service reminder as needed.
    • Scanned engine control unit and found faults 1.1. 28A0 Intake pipe absolute pressure, plausibility: Pressure too high not present 1.2. 2C57 Charging pressure control, plausibility Pressure too low not present Tested air pressure sensors plausibility with the key on and engine off and found that all 3 sensors read within .5 psi of each other – OK. Tested air mass meter engine off – OK. Air mass reading at idle is too low. Tested crankcase vacuum and found that it was 15 millibar which is below the spec of 50 +/- 8. while running the engine it would run and stall over and over. Removed the pre cat O2 sensor and checked exhaust back pressure – OK. Smoke tested the intake and crankcase for leaks and found a very small leak from the crankcase vent valve vent which indicates that the diaphragm is ruptured. Replace the valve cover assembly, erase fault codes and reset adaptations. Run engine and verify proper operation of the charge air system and crankcase ventilation system.
    • Remove engine covers to access, remove, and replace diagnosed faulty valve cover. Re assemble vehicle, clean affected areas and test for proper operation. After replacing the valve cover, runnability was improved. We test drove the vehicle and found the: 1.2. 2C57 Charging pressure control, plausibility Pressure too low not present Code returned. We tested the charge air control system and found the wastegate solenoid has failed, and is not allowing the wastegate to actuate correctly. Recommend replace boost control solenoid and retest.
    • Remove and replace diagnosed faulty boost pressure control solenoid. Re assemble vehicle, clear related codes, and verify proper operation.

    • Scanned all systems for faults. No applicable faults stored. Most notably is the lack of VANOS codes which would be a clear indication that an actual low oil pressure condition exists. The circuit is a normally closed switch (no oil pressure) no in order for the warning to be triggered the circuit would need to find a path to ground. Items involved are the DME, IVM, pressure switch and 4 connectors. First performed a visual inspection of the wiring harness on the engine; no issue found. Inspected the oil pressure switch and found that it is leaking a lot of oil. Oil pressure switch may be the cause of the concern and should be replaced. Recommend replace switch and check oil pressure with a gauge before installing the new switch. Removed oil pressure switch and installed the pressure gauge. Reading 75 psi at idle with warm oil – OK. Replaced oil pressure switch and reassembled; checked for leaks – OK. Test drove for 10 minutes with no occurrence of an oil pressure warning light.
    • Removed engine covers necessary to access, remove, and replace failing oil pressure switch. Clean affected areas and test for proper operation.
