Monitored mass air flow sensor readings and found values too high and fuel trims are floating between -9% and -12%. Determined mass air meter is malfunctioning. >>Recommend replace mass air meter and retest.
    • Change engine oil and oil filter. Perform basic safety inspection. Lubricate and check chassis. Check air filter and cabin filter. Check all fluid levels and tire pressures. Road test vehicle. Check for additional needed services and clear service reminder as needed.
    • Remove and replace diagnosed faulting mass air flow sensor with new. Re assemble vehicle. clear related faults, and test for proper operation.

    • We drove the vehicle on three separate occasions and we were unable to duplicate the concern. We inspected the front suspension and axles and found no issue at this time. >>Possible transfer case clutch. Recommend monitor conditions of when symptom occurs and report.
    • We checked the charging system and found no issue. We tilted the LF seat to access the battery and load tested at 400 amps and found the battery rebounded to 12.08v which indicates ~60% state of charge. Battery is marginal or better. We performed a capacitance test and found 650 cold cranking amps out of 800 – OK. We scanned all vehicle systems for faults and found two applicable codes stored for the left and right rear exterior door handle touch sensors. Client states that all door handles have been replaced multiple times. >>Recommend check for battery drain and diagnose if possible. Disconnect both rear exterior door handles and check for drain.
    • Change engine oil and oil filter. Perform basic safety inspection. Lubricate and check chassis. Check air filter and cabin filter. Check all fluid levels and tire pressures. Road test vehicle. Check for additional needed services and clear service reminder as needed.
    • Checked battery drain after sitting over night and found only 45 milliamps – OK. >>Monitor for additional voltage related symptoms, record conditions and report.

Suspect a cold start injector concern.
    • Removed engine covers and accessories necessary to access, remove, and replace diagnosed faulting fuel injectors with new. Reassemble vehicle, clean affected areas, and clear related faults. Test for leaks and proper operation.

We ran engine to operating temperature for diagnosis and found the thermostat operating normally. We observed the cooing fans are not operating. Accessed wiring to cooing fan module and found good power/ ground to fan module- OK. >>Recommend replace engine cooling fan assembly with new.

    • Tested and found the rear hatch struts have failed.
    • Remove covers and accessories necessary to access, remove, and replace diagnosed faulting cooling fan motor and module with new,. Re assembled vehicle, and verified proper operation.
    • Recharge with R-134 refrigerant. Test system performance.
    • Remove gear selector handle and replace trigger handle with new. Re assembled vehicle and verified proper operation.
    • Remove and replace hatch struts with new. Re assembled vehicle and verified proper operation.
    • Change engine oil and oil filter. Perform basic safety inspection. Lubricate and check chassis. Check air filter and cabin filter. Check all fluid levels and tire pressures. Road test vehicle. Check for additional needed services and clear service reminder as needed.
