    • We operated the top initially without issue. We scanned all vehicle systems for faults and found a sporadic code in the Conv. Top module for the right roof closed switch i01241. We performed the ISTA test plan and were able to watch the values change as the top operated which would indicate a proper operation but the code turned to PRESENT during testing. We manually operated the switch with the top partially open and found the value changes as designed. We suspect a either a switch or harness issue. We need to access the module in order to perform a pin test and we need to discover how to manually operate the top for testing purposes. We suspect the official repair for this issue is replacing the entire electrical/hydraulic harness assembly but we will try to locate the broken wire and repair it if that is indeed the cause of the concern.
    • We disassembled the right rear of the trunk to access the top module and pin tested both left and right roof closed switches. We found the correct K-ohm reading on the left side but the right side was open circuit which indicates that there is likely a break in the wiring. We studied the repair manual and visually inspected the wiring harness routing. We found out how to put the top in to service mode, removed the rear section of roof and manually tested the switch and found the proper ohm readings at the switch – ok. We then cut open the harness below the second bend and when we tested from there to the switch and found an open circuit on the brown wire. We cut away enough sheathing to expose the harness and found the broken wire. We cut out a 6" section of wire and installed new wiring with the splices away from the original break. We reassembled the harness but left a small section of wire exposed for easy testing in the future, reassembled and adjusted the roof section, tested operation multiple times and erased all fault codes.

    • Replaced clutch kit and flywheel per client request. During removal found left rear transmission mount bushing torn completely in half; replaced transmission bracket bushings. Replaced all one-time use hardware and torqued to spec. Test drove to verify repairs. Client is advised tires are in poor condition- front tires are almost corded on inner edges and all tires are dated 2014. Vehicle should not be considered safe to drive on current tires- recommend replacing all four tires and completing an alignment. Found at least one wheel bent. Multiple warnings are displayed in instrument cluster.
