- Started vehicle and drove into shop and heard a squeaking noise from the engine under load. Drain oil filter and oil pan. Found some small traces of swarf in the filter housing. Drained 10 quarts of oil into a bucket. Concerned the engine may have been damaged. Refilled the engine with the used oil and started the engine to find it still running very rough and misfiring mainly on cylinder 3. Swapped the coil, no change. Replaced the blackened spark plug and that restored cylinder 3 but cylinders 1, 4 and 6 were now registering misfires. >>Replaced all 6 spark plugs, erased faults, test drove and found the engine is now running well. >>Recommend engine oil and filter change.
- Change engine oil and oil filter. Perform basic safety inspection. Lubricate and check chassis. Check air filter and cabin filter. Check all fluid levels and tire pressures. Road test vehicle. Check for additional needed services and clear service reminder as needed.
